Ratings/difficulty are based on my own assessment and are based on my personal level of fitness and experience. They are a guide for me and cannot be relied upon as a general classification.

I am a Middle Aged Man In Lycra. I’m reasonably fit and ride a couple of times a week. The rating is a combination of length and hilliness.


I could almost do this in my sleep. These rides could be a warm up or extension on one of the other rides. The rides tend to be shorter and fairly flat. I’d take a less experienced friend along on these rides to get them into the joy of cycling without scaring them off!

Intro


Easy

These tend to be regular training rides. They are still fairly flat but longer than the Intro rides. The roads can tend to be a bit busier (though still nothing like city riding!).


Moderate

Regular training rides that take me a bit of effort but I would still be happy giving them a go if I was feeling unfit or coming back after a break.


I’m not going to attempt these unless I’m feeling reasonably fit and am well rested. Food, plenty of water and breaks are a must.
